About the prints
Marc Fors is a photographer who prints the places he travels.
Every picture here was taken by Marc Fors on location, then printed for you to hang. The catalog is organised in collections:
- Pacific Coast. San Francisco and the Peninsula, mostly under a sky that could not decide.
- Desert Southwest. Sandstone in Arizona and Utah, in the light it keeps for a few minutes a day.
- Europe. Brick, steel and greenery from Riga to Milan.
- Second drop. Eight more pictures: slot canyons, a storm over Stanford and a few quiet places in between.
How a print is made
Each print is made to order, so nothing sits in a warehouse waiting for you. It is printed with archival pigment inks on heavyweight matte cotton paper, with a white border around the image. Every print is signed in pencil on the border, then laminated on a rigid board so it arrives flat and ready to hang, or set in a wooden frame in the colour you choose.
Prints are an open edition: there is no fixed number of copies.
Sizes and prices
Prints are sold by their long edge:
- Mini: 15 cm on the long edge, €19 (no frame in this size)
- Small: 40 cm on the long edge, €59, or €110 framed in wood
- Medium: 60 cm on the long edge, €110, or €175 framed in wood
- Large: 90 cm on the long edge, €260, or €310 framed in wood
Photographs do not all share one shape. Sizing by the long edge gives every picture the same choices, and the short edge follows from the picture's own proportions. The exact dimensions of each print are shown on its page.
Care and handling
Your print arrives laminated on a rigid board, packed flat in a box. To keep it at its best:
- Unpack it on a clean, flat surface and handle it by the edges.
- Dust it with a soft, dry cloth. Never use water or cleaning products on it.
- Hang it away from damp walls and direct heat.
- Keep it out of direct sunlight, which fades any print over time.
